A series of five community meetings in April will focus on how best to bring transit to Woodward Avenue from downtown Detroit to Pontiac. It’s part of the Woodward Avenue Transit Alternatives Analysis. The Woodward Avenue Transit AA is reviewing higher-level transit options for the 27-mile Woodward Avenue corridor from the Detroit River to Pontiac.

Roger Penske has done great things for the city of Detroit. He quarterbacked Detroit’s successful Super Bowl in 2006, and brought the roar of Indy Car racing back to Belle Isle.
And this week, he played the lead role in raising millions of dollars from the business community to support public safety in Detroit. So for being a champion for Detroit, we honor Roger Penske as our Person of the Week.
