Eastern Market Tuesdays Return
The third season of Detroit Eastern Market Tuesdays begins tomorrow–Tuesday, July 9th.
The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The weekday market provides an additional opportunity to access fresh and healthy food in the City of Detroit while providing high-volume selling opportunities for Michigan farmers & vendors, according to the Eastern Market Corporation.
The market offers Tuesday customers many of the same services as Saturdays, including the Eastern Market Bridge Card Program, and the Double Up Food Bucks incentive program.
Tuesdays host many veteran vendors, as well as eleven “Tuesday-only” vendors. This season the market is excited to welcome new vendors the Green Zebra Truck (farm to food truck fare), the Detroit Food Academy (a youth entrepreneurship program with a food focus based in Detroit), and Blake’s Orchard (established in 1945 in Armada, MI).
In addition to the 50+ local food vendors, Tuesdays feature free community exercise classes. Every week in Shed 3 shoppers can participate in early bird yoga at 8am, lunchtime yoga at 12pm, Zumba at 1 p.m., and allability aerobics classes presented by CoventryCares of Michigan at 2 p.m.
Detroit Eastern Market Tuesdays will run through October 29th, and will have a special Thanksgiving Market on Tuesday, November 26th.
