Video: These two guys are working to bring ESPN Summer X Games to Detroit

April 26 2013 | no comments

Detroit is making a bid to be the host city for the ESPN Summer X Games, featuring top athletes in action sports like rally car racing, skateboard, BMX and motocross.

The two guys behind the effort are Kevin Krease and Garret Kohler, who quit their jobs to work on the project. In fact, Garret left Chicago to come to Detroit to make this happen. Kevin is a Grosse Pointe native. Together, they’re building a team of dynamic supporters, which just happens to include Dan Gilbert.

The two have already submitted a bid to ESPN. The sports network says it expects to name a host city for the 2014-2016 event this August.
