Join The Motor City Blight Busters On Angels’ Night
Again this year, the Motor City Blight Busters are organizing for a three-night patrol and are welcoming anyone who is interested to join them.
The Blight Busters was one of the first groups to organize a coordinated effort to patrol the streets of Detroit the night before Halloween.
“This is a chance for us and for everyone who can make it, to celebrate all the positive aspects of Detroit,” said Blight Busters founder John George. “We as an organization, along with our countless and dedicated volunteers from the city and suburbs, have made significant strides in our goal of turning neighborhood liabilities into community assets.”
On the night of October 30th, Motor City Blight Busters is inviting all participants to enjoy dinner with them before heading out on patrol.
The doors of the organization’s Old Redford Resource Center, located at 17405 Lahser in Detroit, will open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m.
The volunteers will then move across the street to the Motor City Java House, located at 17336 Lahser, next to the Historic Redford Theatre, for coffee and dessert before heading out on patrol at 8 p.m.
Shield’s Pizza, Meijer and Starbucks will provide food for the evening.
