August 27 2012 | no comments

Detroit 2020 teamed up with the city of Detroit to tear down an abandoned home on the city’s west side Monday night.

The demolition, which was part of a live event broadcast on WXYZ-TV, took place on Penrod Street, just south of West Chicago, near Cody High School.

Mayor Dave Bing joined Stephen Clark and Carolyn Clifford for the special program, as city crews knocked down the home.

The special was part of Detroit 2020′s commitment to bring positive changes to Detroit.

Detroit 2020 traced the history of the home, and also exposed the biggest blight offenders in the city of Detroit.
