Detroit 2020 Live Event: Busting Blight
This Monday, August 27th, tune in for a Detroit 2020 live special, “Busting Blight.”
The special will be hosted by 7 Action News anchors Stephen Clark and Carolyn Clifford, the special and feature a live demolition of a vacant home on the city’s west side. The home will be knocked down by the city of Detroit. Detroit 2020 also traces the history of the home and examines how it became another symbol of blight in the city.
“Busting Blight” will also expose the people and companies responsible for the most blight in the city of Detroit.
You’ll also be able to weigh in and discuss the blight problem. Their Facebook and Twitter comments will be shown live throughout the broadcast. WXYZ-TV will also stream this special live on web and mobile devices.
“Detroit 2020 is putting the spotlight on blight, and showing how removing even one blighted home can make a big difference on a block,” said Ed Fernandez, WXYZ-TV Vice President and General Manager. “This effort is part of our mission to inspire positive change in our community through Detroit 2020.”


I am very concern about theses vacant homes in the Osborn Community….I was thinking maybe if we the community can join together and board the houses up and cut the grass at least I think it would make it a little safe for the kids to walk to and from school…they cant even walk on the sidewalk on most streets….help us PLEASE
