Keep It Clean!

May 08 2012 | no comments

Today, Detroit 2020 teamed up with Detroit Public Schools for a project we’re calling “Keep It Clean!”

Our Carolyn Clifford helped lead the way on this event. Students at three schools picked up trash and cleaned up at and around their schools.

Fourth and fifth graders at Bennett Elementary school raked, pulled weeds and picked up paper in their school yard. Then they moved across the street to clean a vacant lot.

At Marion Law Academy eighth graders picked up debris from the school grounds and planted flowers.

And at Schulze Academy for Technology & Arts, sixth and seventh graders cleaned trash and brush from the yard of an abandoned house across from the school.  And the City of Detroit promptly sent a crew to collect the yard waste.

The goal is to have students keep things clean around their neighborhoods throughout the spring and summer and beyond.

So spread the word—Keep It Clean!
