A Hidden Detroit Gem

Fridays in Lent means fish & chips for many Detroiters. One restaurant that’s managed to hold on in a Poletown neighborhood for more than 100 years serves up a lot of tradition–along with good food. It’s the Ivanhoe Cafe Polish Yacht Club located at Jos. Campau and Frederick.

    Quaint little hip bar that you wouldn’t find if you didn’t know about it, and it’s been around since 1902! Nancy Whiskey’s is known for their blues nights weekly (at least that’s what the bartender told me..lol) But I ran in here the first time since St. Paddy’s and I’m here in the afternoon and see that they are watching Channel 7 News right now too!
